SUNY Oswego

The Campus Center ice arena at Oswego University is a newly constructed building of approximately 72,000 sq. ft. The arena is used both for scheduled major events such as hockey games and conventions and on a daily basis for meetings and classrooms. Sienna Environmental Technologies was commissioned by the State University Construction Fund (SUCF) to provide the following scope of IAQ services for the building:

1. Sienna reviewed bid specification language for conformance with the New York Green Building Tax Credit and New York State Executive Order No. 111.
2. Reviewed and evaluated the contractor’s prepared IAQ Management Plan During Construction document, which enabled the fulfillment of the Owner goals in protecting the health of workers and future building occupants from adverse impact of poor indoor air quality.
3. Reviewed and evaluated the final Construction IAQ Management Report as prepared by the contractor and documented the effective implementation of the IAQ Management Plan During Construction. This was accomplished by both field verification and document review.
4. Developed an IAQ Testing Protocol including a description of the IAQ Test Strategy, sampling locations, sampling and analytical methods, sampling frequency and duration.
5. Conducted testing described in the IAQ Testing Protocol and prepared a report documenting testing results and whether those results meet the referenced IAQ standards.

Design and testing was conducted in general accordance with the Green Building Tax Credit (NYS Requirement Section 19) 6NYCRR Part 638.7(d) as directed and implemented by the State University Construction Fund.
