Darien Lake State Park

Sienna performed air monitoring services for two separate controlled demolition projects at Darien Lake State Park. 

The deconstruction of the Darien Lake State Park Manager's Residence involved the demolition of one wood framed/block house, foundation and the site restoration back to existing grade. 

The deconstruction of the Darien Lake State Park Radio Tower involved the demolition, removal and disposal off-site of one 8ft x 8ft vermiculite asbestos-containing block building to the foundation, with the foundation left in place. 

Both buildings were in violation of Articles 202 and 1006.2 of the Existing Building Code of the State of New York and Section 107.1.1 Unsafe Structures, of the Property Maintenance Code of the State of New York adopted 2007.  

Sienna performed the following tasks for this project:

  • Air Sampling Services in Accordance with Industrial Code Rule 56
  • Laboratory Analysis of Suspect Asbestos-Containing Air Samples using PCM laboratory Testing Methods NIOSH 7400 A in Accordance within the Requirements of NYS ELAP
