As of January 29, 2021, OSHA has released new guidance relating to Covid-19.

OSHA recommends adding five elements to an existing Covid-19 prevention program.

They are:

  1. Conducting a hazard assessment
  2. Identifying control measures to limit the spread of the virus
  3. Adopting policies for employee absences that don’t punish workers as a way to encourage potentially infected workers to remain home
  4. Ensuring that coronavirus policies and procedures are communicated to both English and non-English speaking workers
  5. Implementing protections from retaliation for workers who raise coronavirus-related concerns

With OSHA issuing “stronger worker safety guidance” organizations should continue to evaluate their work locations going forward and apply additional controls if needed or warranted to provide the best protection possible.

At the start of Covid-19, Sienna utilized a hazard assessment form to help us be conscious of the risks in the field. When NYS and CDC guidance was provided Sienna was able to establish a reopening plan, following those safety guidelines.

In addition, Sienna will take the following precautions on job sites;

  1. Elimination  - We can request the client to have the area cleaned or limit access to help with social distancing.
  2. Administrative - Sienna will try to schedule times when the building or jobsite is less busy.
  3. PPE - Sienna's staff use N-95 mask and gloves as well as wash hands regularly.
