Sienna provided Indoor Air Quality testing services as a subconsultant to RMF Engineering for Mohawk Correctional Facility, operated by the Department of Correctional Services from 2012-2014. The $32 Million project involves the construction of a 20,000 square foot new G-Wing, the Provide Long Term Care Addition.

The building was designated in accordance with Governor Cuomo's Executive Order 111, and emphasizes energy efficiency, indoor air quality, and environmentally responsible design. The testing protocol was designed and conducted in accordance with the U.S. Green Building Council's standard LEED 2009 for New Construction and Major Renovations specifically Credit 3.2. Under Credit 3.2, buildings must be tested for and receive passing results for:  formaldehyde, phenylcyclohexene, respirable dust, total volatile organic compounds, and carbon monoxide.

Sienna also performed a mold investigation within the new construction areas of Walsh Medical RMU at Mohawk Correctional Facility. Concern had been expressed about potential fungal growth following influx of water during on-going construction. Sienna conducted a site investigation, collected samples and completed a summary of findings and recommendations.
