SUNY Buffalo State - SUCF - Burchfield Penney Art Center

The Burchfield Penney Art Center at SUNY Buffalo State celebrates the City of Buffalo’s creative and diverse community. Completed in March 2009, this art museum is located in the heart of Buffalo’s Museum District, close to the Albright Knox Art Gallery, the Richardson Olmsted Complex, and the Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society. The building itself features numerous reflections of Charles E. Burchfield’s love of the outdoors.

Sienna provided complete Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) services for this successful LEED Silver certified project as a subconsultant to CJ Brown Energy. Results of the indoor air quality testing demonstrated that air quality met the criteria established by LEED-NC Credit 3.2. This 84,000 square foot groundbreaking space won several local design awards, including the Buffalo Business First Brick by Brick 2009 Golden Brick Award and the AIA Buffalo/Western New York 2009 Honor Award
